The University of Montevallo now offers eligible students the opportunity to purchase books and supplies at the Freddie’s Books and More campus bookstore using their financial aid that has been applied to their accounts!
Students are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) early and make certain every outstanding requirement is met in order to receive an award notification that will reflect authorized/pending aid. The authorized/pending aid can be viewed on Banner Self Service (BSS). Charges for tuition, fees, and room and board will also be on BSS as charges are placed on each account.
If a student’s aid is greater than their charges, there will be an estimated credit balance. Students with an estimated summer credit balance will be eligible to purchase books and supplies at the campus bookstore. The amount allowed will be capped at the amount of the estimated credit balance, not to exceed $1,000.
The start and end dates to charge books for Summer 2024 is as followed:
May and Full terms: Monday, April 8, 2024 – Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Last day students can return qualified purchases is Wednesday, May 08, 2024.
Summer I and Combined Terms: Monday, April 8, 2024 – Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Last day students can return qualified purchases is Friday, June 7, 2024.
Summer II Term: Monday, April 8, 2024 – Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Last day students can return qualified purchases is Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
First Summer 2024 refunds from the Office of Student Accounts will be issued as followed:
May and Full terms: Friday, May 17, 2024
Summer I and Combined Terms: Friday, June 14, 2024
Summer II Term: Friday, July 19, 2024
Institutional Scholarship Reminder: The University of Montevallo will not permit students to receive any institutional scholarship funds beyond the direct cost of attendance, which includes tuition, fees, room, board, and books, in a refund. This does not affect any outside sources of aid such as veteran benefits, PACT, external agency scholarships, federal grants and loans.
